Excellent Show with one caveat
"An awesome show worth seeing, this performance was truly remarkable. The music, with rapid guitar changes, made it seem like there were more guitars on stage than there actually were. Jazz at the Strand didn't engage much with the crowd, but still managed to involve them. The trumpet/slide trombone and sax player were fronted by old school bandstand pedestals, along with some horns that I love. The drummer handled the stix with skill, and the keyboardist has been playing professionally for 50 years. WOW. The backing vocals from the two ladies filled out the sound beautifully. Jazz at the Strand knew the audience came to see him and stayed on stage the whole time. Each band member received a break during the 2 1/4 hour set.
The balance on the vocals wasn't quite right, unfortunately. While the instruments were spot on, the vocals were muddled and hard to understand. The words were not clear, which made it a bit challenging to fully enjoy the performance. However, we had good seats in the balcony and were able to appreciate the overall musicality of the show."
